Have you just started marketing on forums and come out with disastrous results such as being banned or having your signature file removed? If you want to make the most out of your time on forums, you need to do forum marketing the right way. And that is doing it subtly and ethically.
Many forums don't allow affiliate links or overly hyped up signature files.
Here is what you can do to start marketing effectively on forums:
1. Create a neat signature file promoting your website. It is best to get your own domain (preferably a dot com name), so moderators don't think your link is an affiliate link or a malicious link. If you want to get more clicks, make your link prominent and make it stand out, but don't appear to be like a snake oil sales man. That will decrease your conversions drastically. Promote your signature file stealthily by posting quality information, but don't try to appear as if you are intentionally trying to promote your signature file. That's the secret.
2. Post solid information on the forums. Don't post one-liners or blatant advertising just to get more exposure. It doesn't work, and you may get banned or have your signature file removed. Post helpful replies in threads and start compelling new threads to illicit more views for your signature file.
3. Be sensible in your posting. Post often, but not too often if you don't want to be seen as a forum spammer. Build a reputation in forums as an information provider and others will reciprocate by taking a look at your offers.
