Email marketing is an effective means to let the world know about your company offerings. Here are 4 questions to ask when drafting an effective email marketing strategy:
Question 1: What is your goal?
The goal determines an effective email marketing strategy. Are you trying to increase the enquiries on your offering or be known as an expert in an area? Do you want to be the first choice when or should your communication increase curiosity about your offering?
Question 2: What is your competitive offering?
For an effective email marketing strategy you must look and sound different from others in the market. However, you will have to think through what is unique about you in a market and know what the competition is saying. If their focus is pricing you will need to identify and highlight the uniqueness of your offering.
Question 3: Who is your audience?
This is the most important aspect of effective email marketing strategy. Do not talk to everyone. Identify the people who might be interested in what you offer and list their email ids and communicate with them. Track the responses you get so you can determine the effectiveness of your communication.
Question 4: What is your area of strength?
Is yours a small business with a few employees or a large one? Is your minimum turnaround time lower than your competition or do you offer low cost to the customer because of internal efficiency? Know your areas of strength and focus on them. Think through your online offering to ensure the right message reaches the right people.
