Three Keys to Generating Extraordinary eBook Sales

Your ebook can expose you to a worldwide audience of prospects and customers; it can be leveraged to help you sell higher-priced products, demonstrate your expertise and establish your credibility in your niche. These are just a few of the many benefits of writing ebooks.

However, just because you have written and published an ebook, doesn't guarantee that you'll be flooded with sales. To ensure great results and lots of sales requires some effort on your part and that means developing a relationship with your target group in three vital areas.

1. Potential customers need to know you.
2. Potential customers need to like you.
3. Potential customers need to trust you.

Let's look at each of these in more detail.

1. Potential customers need to know you.
Because of the anonymity of the Internet, and the high incidents of fraud and deception, most people will not commit to a purchase on the first visit to your website, especially if they've never heard of you before. Naturally they will want to learn more about your background and qualifications.

There are several ways to remove this obstacle and get people to know you. Writing articles, publishing a newsletter, blogging, posting in forums and using social media sites are some of the approaches that are very effective.

2. Potential customers need to like you.
As people get to know you and start to benefit from the content you provide, they will become more receptive to your guidance. It's important that you be yourself and allow your personality to show through. This will endear readers to you. They will look forward to your newsletters and blog entries and you'll be establishing a connection with your market.

That connection will play a key role in the future of your business and its success. Getting people to like you not only lowers their buying resistance, it also opens the door to the third vital area.

3. Potential customers need to trust you.
It may take a little time for you to build trust with your market. But when people get to know you and like you, it will be easy to cultivate their trust, and that will become the cornerstone of your relationship.

One way you can foster trust is to offer a free preview of your ebook. This shows you are confident about your product and puts prospects at ease. When people are satisfied that your product can solve their problem, save them money, time, or deliver what they are looking for, they will be eager to do business with you.

So, if you are not happy with your current ebook sales, take another look at your game plan, and see where you can tweak it to include some of these ideas. At the very least, you'll attract more visitors and find it easier to convert potential buyers into long-term repeat customers.
