How to Weave Stories, Create The Author-Reader Connection And Sell More E-Books

To sell more ebooks you must make the content engaging, and the best way to achieve that is by sharing personal anecdotes and stories. Put yourself into the material, tell a story, give an example, create a scenario, and then take your readers through it to the resolution.

This helps to establish a connection between you and your readers. If they shared a similar experience, they'll get an instant “me too" warm fuzzy feeling. And they'll be able to identify with you more closely. If your experience is unfamiliar to them, at least you've shed light on the situation and given them more insight.

Plus, stories are fun and engaging! And, they stimulate our curiosity. Your willingness to talk about your own experiences is not only a powerful teaching tool, but it shows your sincerity, and sincerity always earns trust which translates into more sales.

If you are pointing out a pitfall your reader should avoid, tell them your story about how you fell into some trap and what you went through to get yourself out of it. Or if you don't have a story to share, how about sharing that of a colleague or client?

Don't hold anything back. Share the good and the bad, explain what worked and what bombed. This makes people feel at ease and shows that you are human too. Many of those reading your ebook will have aspirations of writing their very own ebook some day, and simply reading your story about how you made it encourages them to continue.

Stories are powerful ways to create an emotional bond with your reader. The more real-life references you can make, the louder your voice will be heard and the more connected your readers will feel to the material and to you. Your influence in the marketplace will grow, your suggestions will be taken seriously and people will line up to buy more of your ebooks or whatever it is you sell.
