Continuing on from part 4 of how to make money selling on eBay with e-books, we now move on to more of the necessary elements of your download page.
3. Offer your up-sell items.
Promoting your members area along with more of your websites is known as an up-sell. By selling a low-priced e-book you can offer another product at a higher price. Just one high-priced item sale will cover your eBay listing fees for many hundreds of e-books. Because remember, you don’t want all the money you make to come solely from eBay.
If the product you are up-selling is related to the product you just sold, you will have a much greater chance of selling the higher-priced up-sell product. For example, if you sell a book on dog training, you will know your customer is interested in pets, so you could offer a related higher-priced product.
If you don’t have your own product to up-sell, you can always use someone else’s product by using an affiliate link. Many online affiliate programs such as Clickbank and Commission Junction cost nothing to join.
4. Use Google AdSense
Adding Google AdSense to your download page is free. These ads will automatically be related to the products you sell due to Google’s algorithms that are able to interpret the context of a webpage. Thus you will be more likely to get your customers to click on the ads, which is you can earn extra money (you get paid every time someone clicks on an ad). You will often be able to cover your eBay fees just from AdSense alone.
