The world of affiliate marketing is a jungle. Think I'm kidding? When was the last time you made more than one sale in a day? Heck, when was the last time you made a sale period? Did you ever sit down and wonder why things are so bad? It's not because of your breath, trust me. It's because nobody properly showed you how to go about selling products as an affiliate. Well, in this article I'm going to share a few affiliate survival tips that should help. You might want to make a note of these.
For starters, stop going to the Clickbank marketplace, pulling the top product from one of the categories and blasting ads all over creation. You're doing what everybody else is doing and it doesn't work. Why doesn't it work? Simple. When you have hundreds of people all promoting the same product in the same way, nobody stands out. You all just blend into one big mess. Any sale that any of you makes is just from the luck of the draw. The only way you're going to get your fair share of sales is by standing out from the crowd.
Another thing you'll want to do is stop using those canned ads that the product creators provide for you. Yeah, I know they're well written, for the most part, but everybody and their grandmother is using them. There's no difference between the ad that you send out and the ad that John Doe sends out. And after a while, the prospects out there get tired of seeing them. So be different. Even if your ad isn't as good, just by making a different one you'll stand out from the crowd.
Finally, make sure the product you're promoting has a good reputation. This includes several things. For one, that the product itself is a good one, that there aren't chronic complaints about it. Promoting a crappy product is not good for your reputation. Also, you want to make sure that the product creator has a good history of paying his affiliates. Now, if you're going through a marketplace like Clickbank, you don't have to worry. They pay on time. But private affiliate programs don't always. So find out if the merchant has a bad reputation for paying his affiliates.
If you follow these few simple tips, you'll at least have a snow ball's chance of making it as an affiliate marketer. In my signature, you can get some killer information on how to be a really successful affiliate marketer.
