Internet affiliate marketing seems to be one of those black/white, love it/hate it kinds of things.
The people who are making tons of money with affiliate marketing can't stop telling you why you should jump right on the band wagon with them - and the people who have never gotten affiliate marketing to pay off for them frequently report that the whole idea is just one huge scam!
Like almost everything else in life, reality is somewhere in the middle - in that fuzzy gray area in between black and white.
My goal here is to help sort out some of the facts from the fiction, and separate the reality from the hype.
First of all, it is completely possible to make a lot of money with affiliate marketing. In fact, people all over the world have “quit their day jobs, " “earn six-figure incomes, " and “work at home when they want to" - just like all the sales pitches tell you.
But here's what the sales pitches don't include along with all the pictures of mansions, ocean-going yachts, and glorious beach vacation photos.
All those people who have turned affiliate marketing into their “golden egg" have worked hard to do it. Yep. Worked. Hard.
That's reality. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. You have to work to get what you want. Mom was right!
If you are looking for instant, no-effort, “push-button" riches, affiliate marketing isn't for you. Sorry, but that's the way it is.
On the other hand, it you are willing to learn some new things, invest some time and some energy in it, affiliate marketing can do everything you want from it - with unlimited rewards for you.
So - straight talk - what do you need to be ready and willing to do to make affiliate marketing pay off for you?
You will need to find a good, honest, easy-to-follow affiliate marketing guide, read it carefully, follow the directions, and be prepared to have some “no-go" results along the way.
Realistically, you could see affiliate marketing commission checks starting to come in after 10-20 hours of reading and applying what you learn from a complete, clear, easy-to-follow affiliate marketing guide. Will those be “six-figure income" checks? No - but they will be a solid beginning - and you can make them keep growing as much as you want to.
Here's one way I look at it - I have a teaching credential and two Master's degrees. That involved a total of six years of graduate school - after four years of college. And all that education produced a teacher's income (not great, in case you don't already know). That worked for me, because I love kids and teaching. But when cancer treatments forced me out of my classroom, I had to find something else - and fast.
There was no time for more formal education (and no physical ability to do it any more). I learned affiliate marketing on a “learn as you earn" basis, and once I finally figured it out, I started seeing affiliate paychecks within weeks.
When you consider that I actually learned an entire new career for the price of some ebooks and some time in front of my computer - that's really pretty amazing. What other new career can you start with very little money or time?
The biggest problem I faced was finding understandable, straight, complete, no-hype guidance to starting my affiliate marketing business. So many products gave me partial information, assumed I already knew a lot of things that I didn't know, were full of “techno-babble, " etc. Right there is where I lost a lot of time and money (and I couldn't afford to lose either one of them!).
So being a teacher, when I finally put all the pieces together in a money-making way, I wanted to share it with other people. You can learn more about what I learned by clicking below.
CindyAnn Williams is a self-taught, successful internet affiliate marketer who began her internet business with absolutely no knowledge of affiliate marketing. She has built her business by trial and error, always trying again after every dead end, and learning from every mistake. CindyAnn's goal is to share what she has learned to help other people who want to become successful affiliate marketers avoid the many mistakes she made along the bumpy and often detour-filled road to affiliate marketing success.
