You begin your brand new ‘opted-in’ adventure as an affiliate marketing newbie, filled with excitement and great expectations, focusing upon the proverbial ‘pot of gold at the end of the rainbow’. Pumped with anticipation and hope, finally your life seems to be headed in a positive direction. The door has finally opened.
The question now is “What do you do with all this new found energy?" You can visualize the manifestation of your lifelong dream, the accumulation of money and riches, and more importantly, the joy and satisfaction of personal achievement and success. But, you've overlooked the most important part of your journey – The Start.
Maybe you've already invested in an affiliate marketing program or maybe you have yet to decide exactly which one to buy. But, eventually you'll succumb to the hype, roll the dice and begin your great adventure. Filled with the excitement of a kid waiting for Santa Claus, you devour the material, searching for the gift of affiliate marketing enlightenment. Cover to cover you roam, and at some point you begin to feel a bit confused by the sheer volume and complexity of the material and tasks required to ‘make this thing work’. It's just so new and so overwhelming.
You realize now that it's not about simply buying an affiliate program and then sitting back waiting for the cash to pour into your bank account. No, there's much more to it than that. There's a great deal to do and a significant number of things to get organized. This unfortunately is where many newbies begin to drop out. It's simply too much for many of the unskilled and unprepared, to comprehend.
The truth of the matter is that this is really no different than any other challenge you've confronted throughout your life. It's all about attitude, preparation and planning. If you're mentally ready for the task at hand and can develop a plan to put one foot in front of the other, your journey can indeed transform your long awaited dreams into success.
Your plan will likely involve developing some basic infrastructure beginning with:
* Identifying your particular niche in the marketplace.
* Selecting affiliate products that target your selected niche.
* Setting up a website to convert visitors into customers.
* Learning the various methods used to drive traffic to your site.
* An Opt-In form or page to generate leads and begin building your list of subscribers.
* An autoresponder to automate contact, develop trust and facilitate back-end sales with your list members.
And, if that isn't enough, your plan will have to include writing articles and blogs, joining forums, submitting press-releases, utilizing social bookmarking and taking advantage of every learning opportunity you can find.
So, there's lots to do and lots to learn. Be patient and most of all be persistent. Plan your work and then work your plan. Do something each day that will move you further along the path on your journey to success and achievement.
