In order to generate profits and income from your blog there's something that you need. What is it? Traffic. Without traffic there is no income. So how do you go about getting traffic to your blog so you can live the dream by making a full time income from home as a blogger?
No matter what other traffic generation techniques you use to drive traffic to your blog, one technique you should always use is on-page search engine optimization, or SEO. Proper on page search engine optimization really isn't that hard. And it's more than worth the potential payoff you could get from some of your blog entries ranking highly in the search engines for certain keyword phrases.
Organic search engine traffic is some of the highest quality traffic you can receive to your site. These visitors are actively searching for what you have to off. And, of course, there's the little matter of the traffic being free.
So how do you get your site to rank well enough to generate this kind of traffic?
For starters, forget all the crap software that doesn't do anything but create junk spam pages that the search engines eventually discover and ban from their search engine results.
If you want great search engine rankings that last, there are some solid search engine optimization tactics you can use that thesearch engines actually love.
Let's take a look at some of these SEO tactics you need to use and then I'll show you some results I've gotten with these search engine techniques.
Create a site or blog with lots of valuable and unique content. One of my sites has over 500 pages of content that I wrote myself. Last month that site received over 52,104 unique visitors from the search engines - all free traffic.
Use your keywords in the right fields and references within your web page, like Title, META tags, Headers, etc.
Keep your site design simple so that your customers can navigate easily between web pages, find what they want and buy products and services.
Don't submit your site to the search engines. I know, that sounds strange. But instead, let them find your site naturally by getting links on other sites and directories.
Do not engage an automated submission service. This can be treated like spam by the search engines and cause you all sorts of problems.
Monitor your competitors and the top ranked websites to see what they are doing right in the way of design, navigation, content, keywords, etc.
Use reports and logs from your web hosting company to see where your traffic is coming from. Over time, you'll find people getting to your pages via keyword phrases you hadn't even thought of. You can take these keywords and create new web pages based on them to grab even more free search engine traffic.
Analyze your visitor location and their incoming sources, whether search engines or links from other sites and the keywords they used to find you. In December, one of my sites had 1,501 different referrers, do to many other sites out there having links to my site.
