With the explosion of the internet, there has never been a better time to step out on the ledge and become an entrepreneur. Now is the time to start your own business. With the internet, you can start you own online business quickly, easily and with almost no cost, especially compared to a traditional offline business. So how do you get started and grab your share of the millions being made with internet marketing?

The quickest and easiest way to launch your own online business is to become an affiliate marketer. What is affiliate marketing? When you're an affiliate marketer, you market other people's products and when someone buys through your special link (given to you by the company that sells the product), you get paid a commission. Depending on the type of product, that commission can be anywhere from a couple of percent all the way up to 75% or more (these higher commissions are only on digital products).

Sounds good, right? It is. And you can get started for very little money. But that doesn't mean it's easy. To be a successful affliate marketer, you will need to work hard and it is very competitive. But it's also one of the easiest internet marketing businesses to launch, and the profit potential is extrordinary. Yes, you can get rich with affliate marketing. But it's not a get rich quick scheme. It's a business, just like any other business.

Now, in order to be a successful affliate marketer nowadays, you'll need something:

Your Own Website - While this isn't a requirement, I think it should be. Not from the companies whose products you'll promote, but for you, to give you the best chance at succeeding as an affiliate marketer . Why is that? Because if you don't have your own site, you're what I call a traffic broker. You send traffic to another company and that's it. Yes, you make a commission if a sale is made but they get a new customer that they will market other products to. What do you get? You get to go find another customer.

However, if you have your own site that you can send traffi to first, you can capture their name and email adress, build your own list, and market to these people again and again. Instead of making $20 on a one time sale, you may make $500 from each customer over that customer's lifetime. And with your own list, you've successfully built your own business, as opposed to constantly sending new traffic to someone else's business.
