So one of the most important things that you can do when you are building your first list, is to think about the purpose of your list.
Once you've established the purpose of your list, then you can think about how you are to monetize that list, or communicate with that list is not monetization way of her example you are nonprofit, you are just in trying to create awareness of the disease etc. etc.
Once you have determined the purpose of that list than you can think about who you want on your list.
Why is it important to think about what you want and who you want on your list? The reason it is important to think about who you want on your list is because different types of them make different types of decisions or make different types of purchasing decisions; if you put a bunch of freebie seekers, for example, on your list, you cannot expect those freebie seekers to ever make many purchases from you.
Maybe they will buy a $10 books from you or five dollar books or something crazy like that, but if you're genuinely building a business with $97 books or $5,000 courses, like I am, then is important that you should screen the people that you bring on your list.
So you really have to think about who you want on your list, and why you money if I invite them to your list.
Now, once you think about who you want to put on your list. Then you can think about what that squeeze pages going to look like comment what that free giveaway e-book is going to look like.
Once you determine what the free e-book is going to look like, then you can think about what your squeeze pages are going to look like, and once you determine what your squeeze page to look like, then you can determine what your articles are going to look like to drive people to that squeeze page.
So one of the things I really want to get across is that in order to really make list building effective, there has to be a continuity between the purpose of your list and article marketing and your list building itself to your squeeze page, and your opt in email list has to have relevancy.
