Customized SEO – Is it Worth the Extra Cost?

If your site absolutely must be found on the first few pages of search engine results, then perhaps customized SEO (search engine optimization) is for you. But be warned, it’s not inexpensive and is something that has to be performed on an on-going basis – it’s not a one-time shot.

If you engage a Customized SEO firm to do this, you can expect the following:

Competitive Analysis. A detailed competitive analysis in your product or keyword space. Who plays there? How do they position themselves? How are their pages marked and tagged?

Optimized keywords. This is a bit of art mixed with a bit of science. The goal is to identify which mix of keywords will best identify your products and services AND allow your site to be ranked higher.

Rewrite your web copy. With new optimized keywords and a competitive analysis, customized SEO will probably require many, if not all, of your pages to be rewritten so that it is search engine friendly.

Meta tags. Customized SEO will likely require an adjustment of the meta tags on each page of your site to ensure that they appropriate describe the content and mirror the keywords you use.

Hand submission. Once optimized your site will have to be re-submitted to key websites to ensure that the changes in the site are appropriately registered. The good news is that your changes will show up in a matter of days, not weeks.

The fact is that there’s a lot of labor associated with customized SEO . And it’s not a static task. Your competition is doing the same things you are – looking for the best way to stay on top. You can expect, if you have serious competitors, to have to revise your optimization on a regular basis.
