Search engine optimization and link management strategies are so very important in today’s internet marketing world that indicates that high search engine rankings are important for long-term internet marketing success. Don’t get me wrong – I think you can make it online without search engine optimization, but if you can do better, then why not?
So what is search engine optimization and what are link management strategies?
Search engine optimization is the process of taking steps with your web site to make it more likely to be ranked by the search engines in such a way that your web site comes up highly ranked for your desired search terms.
Link management strategies are one way to optimize your web site for the search engine, and basically involves generating inbound links from other related web sites, and preferably linking in such a way that the keyword for which you wish to rank highly, is included in the link, and preferably on the page from which you are linking.
Here is how to do search engine optimization and link management :
1) Be sure your preferred keyword is featured in your website in: your title, your keyword tag, your description, and at least several times in the content of your web page.
2) Ask other web masters of web sites with similar topics as your own, to place a link to your web site, possibly by offering to place a link to his web site from yours.
3) Submit your web site url to multiple web directories.
4) Write and submit articles containing text anchor links to your web site, to the various online article directories.
