Nine months seems like a long time to be pregnant when you are nearing full term. As your pregnancy starts to come to an end you're bound to feel exhausted, nervous and incredibly excited. It's always a bit frustrating waiting for the baby to arrive when you are very near your due date and another day or even hour passes without a contraction. If you are full term and ready to welcome your new bundle of joy into your life, there are several natural ways to help induce labor that can get you started on the road to motherhood a little sooner.

Most of us have heard of at least a few natural ways to induce labor. There's the old wives’ tale that suggests that you should take a trip down a bumpy road or drink some cod liver oil. Both of these are remedies that have been around for decades and many women actually swear by them. In the case of the bumpy car ride, the goal is to get your water to break and contractions to start from the jerky movement. The cod liver oil comes with its own set of challenges one of which is a very upset stomach so you may want to look for other methods that help induce labor that don't leave you feeling nauseous.

Good old fashioned walking is one way to kick start labor. It's said to be so beneficial because the movement from a brisk walk can help get your baby into the proper position for birthing. Since you are very pregnant, don't go for a long walk alone. You may be surprised by how quickly your labor progresses once it starts, so be sure to have someone there beside you. Walking has another benefit in that it can help make labor and delivery much easier and quicker.

Drinking a warm cup of raspberry leaf tea is another of the natural ways to help induce labor that is said to be safe and effective. Many women claim that when they drink this tea near the end of their pregnancy that it helps to strengthen the uterus. It's completely harmless and actually very delicious so give this approach a try if you are hoping to deliver sooner rather than later.

Being pregnant is wonderful, but if you're near your due date, or past it, you're living in a constant state of discomfort. Medical induction isn't your only choice when it comes to bringing on the birth of your new son or daughter. There is a safe, guaranteed way to induce your own labor naturally

You can use effective acupressure techniques to help stimulate contractions. Labor acupressure not only can help you begin labor in the next 36 hours, but it also helps to diminish the pain you'll feel. It's a perfect choice for both you and the baby.
