Having a child of one's own can be delightful and fulfilling. For a husband and wife, raising a family can be a challenge that becomes all the more pleasing when they see that the children that they have raised turn out to be well-rounded persons who have both the beauty and the brains to set them on the road to a good life. Indeed, raising children is the objective of a marriage, and many groups advocate the idea of the presence of children equaling a family, which in turn equals a happy marriage.
What happens, however, if a woman cannot conceive or bear a child, no matter how hard she and her husband try to make one? Should they just give up and adopt a child? 1. There's nothing wrong with waiting. If you have already sought medical help, and if your history shows that you and your spouse have no medical problems, doctors recommend that you try again for a year. According to statistics, the simple “try and try until you succeed" method results in an over fifty percent success rate within six months for many couples, and a nearly one hundred percent success rate within a year.
If you are older than about thirty, however, then your fertility may be much lower; if you are a woman, you will not ovulate every month. Waiting might tax on you, so if trying is not working, then you are better off seeking medical assistance.
In any case, keep trying. Forget about tracking the vaginal mucus density, making charts of ovulations and menstrual cycles, and taking temperatures. Forget about scheduling *** intercourse in time for sperm to meet egg. Doctors say that passion can drive fertility naturally, so have sex where you want, and when you want it.
2. Don't let the stress get to you. Whether you are a man or a woman, stress related to the home or work can disrupt your cycle and take the fertility out of you. Women's bodies are especially adept at sensing how ready their owners are to get pregnant. In periods of high stress, menstruation can often be delayed, and ovulation will not occur.
Find ways to distress. Take a long walk, drink lots of liquids, eat a balanced diet, and relax as much as you can. Stress will not only keep you from getting pregnant or conceiving: it can also tax on your skin and make you appear older than you really are.
3. Vice does not pay. Do not smoke, take drugs, or drink alcohol. Cigarette smoke contains over a hundred dangerous toxins: male smokers often have much lower sperm counts, and their sperms will be less mobile; female smokers are less likely to get pregnant. This is due to the fact that the toxins in cigarette smoke can change the level of hormones in a person's body, disrupting normal fertility cycles.
Stimulants such as coffee, sodas, tea, and chocolate will not only increase your stress levels, but tax on your fertility. Alcoholic beverages are dangerous not only for pregnant women, but conceiving ones, so stay away even from mild cocktails.
4. Are you actually ovulating? Women should check if they have regular menstrual periods, which will usually be the sign that they are indeed releasing a mature ovum. This is noticeable if a woman produces a thin, clear, watery mucus from her vagina; if she has breast tenderness a few days before menstruation; and if she has menstrual cramps. 5. Not all foods and exercises are good for the ladies. If you eat too much foods with soy in them, it could interfere with your hormones and fertility. Many diet foods and frozen meals contain soy.
