From possibilities you would have applied the suggested improvements and you and your child will be going great guns. If not, don’t despair because it all takes time. Patience will definitely be required. So be positive and gentle, when you are dealing with your child. Always remember it was not easy growing up when adults wanted you to do something quickly when you have never done anything like what they are requiring you to do.
By being able to associate to your childhood you will be able to associate to your child. Well at least it will give you insight to how you handled things as a child. This will help by taking the tension out of all the situations that you and your child will be involved. It will help establish a talking point from where you will be able to improve your rapport and have a common base.
In all cases have a good attitude, listen and encourage, never let a moment slip by, where you have an opportunity to spend time with your child take it with both hands. Enjoy your child’s company because the child will grow up and you would lose the opportunity. Some things in life you only get one shot at, so do everything in your power to enjoy your children.
