For some people organic gardening is a fun, relaxing pastime, whereas for others it can be a major headache. Read this article to find out more about this activity.

Aspirin water has disease-prevention properties that can protect plants. You will need 2 gallons of water and one and one half aspirin mixed together for a wonderful add-on to your plants. You can simply spray them with the mixture to help aid them in fighting off diseases. You should spray your plants about once every three weeks.

Make garden beds correctly, if you want to create an organic garden. One way to achieve this is to use a garden tool to carve out a small slice of earth. Once that is done, turn it over and cover with about three to four inches of mulch. Once these have set for about two or three weeks you can plant in it.

Keep the temperature in your home between 65 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit, if you are keeping or growing any kind of plant in your house. They need the temperature to be that warm so that they can grow. These temperatures may not be comfortable for you, however. As an alternative to keeping your entire home that warm, consider getting heat lamps for your organic plants.

Organize the chores for your organic garden so they do not pile up. If you can't get out in your garden every day, there are still a number of things you can do to keep things from falling into disarray during your absence. Even if you're just taking the dog for a walk, bend down and pick a few weeds.

Make sure that you plant your crops in segments at three-week intervals. Doing this will keep your whole harvest from popping up at the same time. If something happens to ruin your harvest, you have time to fix the problem before the next set of tomatoes is due, sparing part of the harvest.

Try raising organic garlic. The best time to plant garlic is either early spring or in the fall. Plant garlic in moist soil with good drainage. Lay each bulb into the ground ends up at a distance of about 4 inches away from the next bulb and 1-2 inches down into the soil. You can cut the shoots of green garlic as they are growing and use them as an alternative to scallions and chives. When the top turns brown, it is time to harvest the bulbs. Make sure you put the garlic in the direct sunlight for days so that the skin will harden. Store the bulbs separately or tied in loose bunches in a cool place.

As this article has demonstrated, organic gardening is more complex than some may think. Every time you enjoy your vegetables, fruits, flowers or just take a satisfying glance around your garden, you'll realize that all your efforts have been worth it. By using the advice you learned here, you will be well on the path to becoming an organic gardening pro.
