Eliminate The Heat Using Dual Hose Portable Air Conditioner

Visitors: 234

Portable air conditioners have simple configurations. There is a box-like design that holds the cold and hot sides in one. An exhaust hose expels the heat and water is condensed out of the air. The resulting water is collected in an internal drain bucket or through a drain hose. Some portable air conditioners use evaporative technology so that little to no water is produced.

The main reason for the popularity today of the portable air conditioners, besides the unrelenting heat waves, stems from the fact that many people live in the apartments and houses where any other form of air conditioning is simply prohibitive. Be it by the apartment building code, by the tenant agreement, or because of the age of the building, and inability to implement any other kind of air conditioning, it simply turns out that portable air conditioning is the only way to break away from the summer heat for many people.

The portable AC unit takes the energy from the warm air in the room and transfers that energy to the air that exits the room through the hose leading to the window.

Since some hot air has exited the room through the hose leading to the window, the air in the room must be replaced. There are openings in the walls, ducts, cracks and gaps in the windows and doors where the new air enters the room. The key point is “the new air needs to be cooled". A single hose AC unit will constantly have a task of cooling the new incoming air into the room. And the harder it works, that is, the more hot air it blasts out through the window, the more new warm air will come into the room through cracks, gaps, etc. and will need to be cooled. Therefore single hose portable air conditioner is not efficient at all.

With a dual hose portable air conditioner, the air from the outside of the house, figuratively speaking, makes a full circle. It starts as a relatively hot air from the outside, goes through the intake hose to the portable air conditioner, takes on some heat there, and is eventually exhausted through the second hose to the outside air. Big difference compared to a single hose system: The air in the room is still the same; it did not have to be sucked in from the outside. Therefore, by closing the circuit of the outside air using the dual hose, the dual hose portable air conditioner has been able to cool the same air inside the room all the time. Therefore, that same air can be cooled down faster and to a lower temperature as if we had to constantly chill the new incoming room air.

Due to the compressor in the single hose portable AC unit working too hard cooling new air that penetrates into the room, its lifespan will be shortened and the unit will break down and require repair sooner. Another reason why buying a single hose portable air conditioner is a waste of money. Choosing a dual hose air conditioner will enable you to get rid of all the heat during summer or hot days effectively and eco-friendly.

There also other metrics such as BTU, energy consumption, the quality of exhaust hose, etc that determine a good portable air conditioner. However, we can clearly see that a dual hose portable air conditioner is an ideal type of air conditioner to pick.
