The first thing which you would obviously already know is what party you are organising. It could be a bucks night Adelaide party, hens night Adelaide party, a team building event, a fundraiser, birthday party or some other celebration. This is a no brainer.
The next step is to determine the approximate guest list. It is very difficult in most if not all occasions to determine the exact guest list at the very outset of organising the party. A lot of people are unsure of whether they will be able to attend or not. This can make things difficult but if you have an approximate guest list you can move on to the next step of organising your party.
Now you should be deciding the theme of your party. Whether you want a casual and relaxed atmosphere so people can dress however they feel comfortable.
Or you may want to have a fun and exciting atmosphere and have everybody dress up in some theme. For example at a bucks night you may want to have an old school Al Capone gangster party where everybody dresses up like the 1940’s and 50’s gangsters. Or for a hens night you might want to have a really fun and tacky atmosphere so everybody is wearing novelty toy headbands and the like.
Or you may want to have a really classy and stylish party where everybody dresses in their best trying to outdo one another in style and class.
Once you have an approximate guest list and decided on a theme then you will want to decide on the venue you will use. If the guest list is really small you may want to have it at somebody’s home. If it is larger you may be looking at hiring a venue. Depending on the theme you have chosen the venue maybe a fun venue or a more classy and stylish venue. So by leaving the venue decision until after you have an approximate guest list and chosen the theme you are much more likely to choose an appropriate venue.
For instance, if you are having a hens night Adelaide party and your theme is to have life drawing classes and draw life drawings then you will decide on a venue that is appropriate because you know what you will be doing.
While you are deciding on the venue you can start to think about the food and drinks as well. The venue may provide the food and drinks for you. If it doesn’t you will have to decide what foods and drinks you want to have at the party. Or if the food and drinks they have on offer are not what you would like then you will have to decide if that particular venue is the one you want or if you can organise food and drinks from elsewhere. Here are some things to think about when deciding on the food and drinks. What would the people on your guest like to eat and drink? Do you want finger foods? Do you want a banquet? Is it going to be a breakfast, lunch or dinner or a combination of the three? Is it going to be a party with alcohol or not? If some people don’t drink alcohol you may want to organise other drinks for them.
Usually when you are organising a venue, you choose the venue depending on the food and drinks they have to offer. And if you find a venue that has food and drinks that satisfy your party’s needs then it can save you some time in organising the food and drinks.
The next step to organising your party is to choose the entertainment you will have for the day or night. This means music (which may or may not be provided for you by the venue), waiter/waitress (which may also be provided for you by the venue or you may have to organise it yourself), depending on the theme, for example for a hens night
Adelaide party you may have already organised dancing classes or drawing classes and so your entertainment may already be organised. You may want to organise a stripper if it is a bucks night or hens night or even for some birthdays this is appropriate. And you may even want to organise some novelty toys for fun.
So now you have an approximate guest list. You know which venue you want to have the party at. You have a theme for the party whether it is casual or dress up. You know the food and drinks that will be there. And you have chosen the entertainment for the party. Now you have to finalise your guest list and determine a more precise guest list. And hopefully by now everybody knows whether they will be coming to your party or not.
All that is left for you to do now is to book the venue, order the catering for the food and drinks, book the entertainment and send out the invites letting the guests know of the occasion, time, place and theme of the celebration and if it is a party where everybody is helping to finance it then it is now also time to ask the guests for their contribution.
And the final step is to just relax and enjoy the celebration.
