A eulogy speech is a personalized speech intended to pay tribute to the life of a loved one who has just died. It is usually delivered at a funeral or a memorial service by a person who is close to the dead and who knows the deceased well. It may contain details about the life of the person who passed away, family life details, interests, career, and achievements. It may also include special memories of the deceased, his favorite songs, quotes, and poems.

Eulogies are well-appreciated and most meaningful when written from the heart. They do not have to be perfect and formal. Whatever is in a eulogy speech will be appreciated by the audience in the funeral.

In writing a eulogy, recognize the fact that it is an honor for you to be chosen as the person who will help people remember the life of your loved one.

Share in your eulogy special and intimate facts about the deceased that may have not come to the audience's knowledge. It is important that you help the people picture your loved one in your speech. Include stories that are funny or touching. Make people appreciate your loved one. Make them remember the dead with fond memories he or she has shared with you and with other people. What you write in your speech will reflect the life of the deceased and your relationship with him or her.

If you write the eulogy speech with your whole heart, you will surely find the perfect words to say.
