Pregnancy is definitely the moment in a woman’s life that is to be remembered forever. Everything is so nice during those 9 months but the best thing comes after them – your baby. Every mother reads millions of magazines in order to learn how to best take care of her baby. Most of the tips are always spot on and are equal for all kids. However, sometimes the proper baby care depends on the child’s individual health and character. Here we will point out the most common baby care tips you need to follow in order to have a healthy and happy baby.
The first and most important baby care tip is connected with the bathing of the baby. Always use appropriate shampoo so the baby doesn’t get irritated. You also need to have a special thermometer to measure the temperature properly as the baby’s skin is very gentle and the slightest difference in the proper degrees can either burn the skin or make the baby too cold. Have different rubber toys to distract the baby from thinking about the shower and the water only. Keep it occupied so you can shower it properly.
The next thing is dressing the baby. Remember that the most important thing is to use natural fabrics. The best material for babies is cotton. All baby clothes have to be of that material in order for the baby to sleep well and have fun during the day without getting irritations. Be careful when you wash the baby’s clothes as cotton is highly sensitive and you have to wash by hand most of the times. Use only appropriate washing powder as the skin of the baby can react to bad washing powder and cause you and the baby a lot of grief.
Last but not least we will mention the diapers. Most may think that is doesn’t really matter as they are all created for babies’ needs. That is not true at all. Make sure that the diaper you buy is of a well-known brand and has cotton in it in order to keep the skin dry. If the nappy is of a bad quality that may lead to many more problems one of which is nappy rash. Nappy rash occurs when the baby has stayed with the nappy for too long or when the nappy is not of a good quality. The modern nappies are made in a way that they absorb the urine and the stools and preventing from a contact with the skin and that way nappy rash is avoided. The fake nappies do not do that but instead keep the baby’s bottom wet and soiled all the time which is the perfect environment for a nappy rash.
By following the above mentioned tips we guarantee that you will have one happy baby free of all nasty rashes (baby rød numse udslæt is the term used in Denmark) and irritations. Remember in case any irritation occurs to never attempt curing the baby yourself. That would be an example of bad baby care(or Babypleje til dit spædbarn as we Danes say) Go to your paediatrician straight away in order to avoid problems.
