Having twins is twice the bundle of joy as well as twice the precious moments of first steps and first words. However, having baby twins is also twice the goo, twice the tantrums, and of course, twice the hard work on the part of the parents. This most especially holds true when it comes to feeding twin babies.
With the idea of helping the mother cope with the difficult and delicate task of feeding twin babies, here are some tips that will hopefully help:
Create a chart. Making a visual chart of schedule will help the mother know when it’s time to feed who with just one glance. Of course, in the case of twin babies, two charts must be made. Doctors and Pediatricians must be consulted as to the proper baby formula or proper baby food appropriate for them. Columns such as feeding schedule or the time, the meal fed, the amount fed should also be included for easy monitoring. What mothers must keep in mind however that at seven to twelve months, babies may already be developing their own tastes in food, and simply because they are twins does not necessarily mean that they have the same taste. Keep in mind therefore that one twin may consume more than the other and it is needless to let them consume the same amount of food.
Prepare your baby food ahead of time. Some mothers may opt to prepare their own baby food. Not only are they guaranteed of its freshness and quality, they are also guaranteed of its nutritional values when prepared at home and prepared without preservatives. In this case, always prepare your baby food ahead of time. This way, twin babies don’t have to wait and scream until food is ready.
One baby is indeed a great gift and having twins is simply twice the blessing. However, when much is given, much is also required. Cliché as it may sound but truly, one can never be too careful when it comes to feeding, among others, your little pair.
