Journaling and titles are very important in your scrapbooks. Without them, the pictures are just picture. With them, the story is all brought together and become an heirloom for your family to treasure for years to come. Tags are a great way to add a title to your page. You can make tags to fit any scrapbook layout. You can make them in any color of cardstock or vellum to create the perfect title. You can also purchase pre-made tags as well, either way your options are endless.
There are several ways you can dress your tags up. Add brads, eyelets, buttons, ribbons or strings to add character. You can color them with chalks, water colors or inks. Mix and match to come up with the perfect combination. Use strings and brads and hang your tags across the top of your page. Use scrapbook stamps or stencils to write your family name on them.
Tags can also be used for journaling. Write your story in tags and place next to the picture you are telling the story about, If it is a family event, have each member write their favorite memories down and place them in a pocket on the page. Or use the photo as a pocket and place them behind each photo with a ribbon on the top for easy removal.
You can also use tags as your photo mats on your pages. Tags are very versatile and can be use with almost any layout. Be creative and come up with different techniques to make your titles and journaling tags pop off your pages. Your family will thank you for the memories
