Brick Patio Designs

Brick patio designs are guaranteed to add an element of charm to any patio that will last a lifetime. Brick is one of the longest lasting designs you could ever use for your patio giving it a rustic look. The brick is durable and will actually outlast the house because of its ability to stand up to the rugged wear and tear of a family.

The patio can be of any length or width and the color of the brick blends in well with the garden in its earthy tones. It is relatively easy to build your own brick patio. You will have to decide the type of brick you want to use, such as solid or cored and the shape and color you want, In addition you can choose from

  • Face brick which is generally light in color
  • Flashed brick with heat generated colors
  • Used brick, which just as its name says, comes from brick buildings that have been torn down.
  • Replica used bricks that are new, just made to look as if they are really old
  • Embossed brick with a pattern on the face of the brick.
  • Most people tend to use face brick because it has an aspect or timeless beauty about it. It comes in a wide variety of colors and designs that can add a unique character to your patio. Brick that is highly textured, such as the embossed brick, does look really elegant, but it is very difficult to clean. Whatever brick you decide to use, you have to make sure that you cover it with a sealant to prevent the weather and moisture from seeping into the brick and causing cracks.

You don’t have to just have the floor of the patio done with brick as you can also have any steps done with the same material or a path to your driveway. You can also add waterfalls to make it a place of fantasy where you can sit back in your comfortable chair and make believe that you are in some exotic location.
