Art is in the eye of the beholder and when it comes to choosing art to brighten your home there is a plethora of choice. Depending on your interior design, be it contemporary or traditional, or a combination of both, art will enhance your home and can be used to express inner feelings.

Our choice of art very much reflects how we see the world and choosing art is an intimate experience. Usually the last part of decor within a home, it is something the whole family can be involved in and a great way for the children to express themselves in their own creativity.

Choosing art is considered an investment and you can hand down art to future generations. Art is a matter of personal choice and gaining opinions from the whole family on what pieces to have can be a good time for the whole family including the children.

A home is the hub of any family and to have contributions from all members of the family can unite a family within their choices. Children can be encouraged to learn a little about art with the view of building an interest in art, not to mention creating their own ideas on paper or with sculptures.

Children love nothing more than creating things and there are plenty of opportunities for children to attend classes to draw, paint and sculpt.

This brings about a more personal touch and there are few finer things than a child who proudly displays their work.

We consider art to be a very adult project, however, children have curious minds. Bright colours will attract children and it may well ignite some form of interest and helps them to care for their surroundings.

Art is an umbrella term for paintings, sculptures and photography and with today's modern cameras, it is not difficult for the family to enjoy photography as a hobby.

Photography is a fabulous way of capturing family life and collages of family outings and gatherings is a wonderful way to put a mark on a family home and children can help to choose photographs and place them into collages. Children can decorate their bedrooms with their creative designs. Simply give them a wall and ask them to fill it with their own artwork and you will soon have a myriad of colours and characters that will bring joy and pleasure to any eye.

Art can raise many emotions in us as human beings and there are few better places than a home to build a collection of art that reflects inner feelings. Most of us are attracted and moved by certain pieces of art. Particularly art which reminds us of people, places and things.

It raises postive emotions in us and is an attractive way to finish a home's decor. Filling blank walls with beautiful art of your choice will bring satisfaction and enjoyment for years to come. Art instills happy memories of family times together and adds flair to a family home. Creative contributions from the whole family and a choice of artists is reflective of an individual and a family as a collective unit.
