Comfort Depends on Bean Bag Filling

Visitors: 269

A bean bag is a shape that we have all come to recognize and are very fond of. When it first made its appearance it must have looked very odd indeed. There simply is no other seating that is quite like it. The bean bag is truly a unique invention. Everything about is appealing to us. We like the fact that it is different and odd in comparison to other chairs. But best of all we love the fact that it is so incredibly comfortable. There are many ways to relax. You can lie on it. You can snuggle into it. You can lie on your tummy with your book on the floor. You can lie on your back stretched out. You can also curl up into a ball and catch a nap.

All this is possible because of the bean bag filling. The softness of the bean bag depends on the amount of filling that is used. The more bean bag filling that is used the firmer the feeling of the sack because there is less space to burrow. The less filling there is the softer the feel and the more space there is to snuggle down. Of course there must not be too little filling either because then the filling will be too sparse for comfort.

The most popular bean bag filling is the polystyrene beans. They are cushiony little balls that are made out of recycled plastic and other materials. Polystyrene is able to withstand force and density. This means the polystyrene beans will form according to your shape. You will have a feeling of being encased or wrapped in your Bean Bag. This is a very pleasant sensation. The beans are also strong enough to hold your weight even though polystyrene is extremely lightweight.

There is another name for polystyrene and it is Styrofoam. The original producer of this product was the Dow Company. It is when plastic gets combined with a number of different chemicals that a resin that is pliable and expandable is made and it is called EPS. Heat must be applied to the EPS and this makes it inflate. When this happens it becomes the beads that we know as polystyrene. It is what we know as our bean bag filling. There is also a foam that is high density and is able to carry our body shape. When we leave our bean bag the foam goes back to its own shape. It gives us a choice when we need to select a filling.

According to manufacturers and consumers the one is not better than the other. They say it is only a matter of choice. They are also experimenting with combining the two bean bag fillings It will take some time for the consumer to decide if this combination fill is any good.
