Beanbags are still as popular today as they were when first released to the American market. Beanbags are so versatile that they have become a part of most households in the United States. Their simple functionality and malleability as they conform and mould themselves to the human shape is the reason they are so popular with young and old. It is high impossible to imagine a household without a few handy beanbags lying around to be pounced on at any time.

As people tend to hone in on a particular beanbag as their favorite chair and then spend as much time lounging in it as possible it is normal that with such frequent use your beanbag will start losing its shape as it deflates and contracts. Another reason for rapid contraction of these objects is that the little ones love to romp and play around on them and treating them as their personal jumping castles. The good news however is that when you start worrying about the shape of your favorite chair, you can solve the problem with refills and save the day.

It is obviously cost effective to fill up your saggy beanbags than it would be to go out and buy others. Beanbag refills are easily available at any of your local stores. There are two types of beanbag refills freely available, you simply have to decide which of the two you prefer before you go out and make your purchase.

Virgin refills are polystyrene pellets the size of BB's with a width of about 1mm. these virgin beads are of a denser construction than the reground beads therefore they are more difficult to squash flat. When purchasing virgin refills you should take note of the size of the beads for you want uniformly sized beads so that they can move together easier for greater comfort and more maneuverability. You should be aware thought that their price tag is higher than that of reground refills but the choice of purchase is yours.

Reground bean bag refills are created by grinding up large blocks of Styrofoam into small pellet sized pieces. As this is recycled material you will find that some of the beads have the tendency to clump together. This would make moving around not as smooth as with a virgin refill. Reground beanbag refills are very popular and preferred by most people because they are environmental friendly and a lot more cost effective.

How often you have to refill your beanbag would depend on how frequently it is used and how rough that usage is. The average for a well-used beanbag would be to have it refilled every few months to keep its shape and to ensure your comfort.
