Eco-Friendly Spring Cleaning

It's that time of year. The birds are chirping, the sun is shining, and the gentle breeze in the air reminds us it's time to open our windows and dust our closets. It's a great time of year to open up our homes, let the outdoors in, and get rid of the cobwebs in our corners.

Spring cleaning doesn't have to be complicated, and when you're looking for eco-friendly options to getting the work done, it's a breeze. Here are a few tips to help get you started.

4 Simple Steps To Eco Friendly Spring Cleaning

1. Open up all the windows. Fresh air does wonders for the home. It creates a pleasant atmosphere, lifts spirits, and airs out the stale air from the winter. Plus, it eliminates any unpleasant odors that may have crept in. It's important to open your windows during the winter too, even if it's only a crack for a short bit.

2. Work top to bottom! As you clean the dust will fly, especially if you haven't cleaned those ceiling fans since Thanksgiving. Make it easier on yourself by starting at the top of each room and working down to the floors.

3. Beat all your rugs and pillows outside. Obviously you wouldn't do that inside you house, but after you're done, let them sit in the sun for a bit. Not so long they'll get sun damage, but enough time to air them out and allow the fresh air to help remove the odors that have made their homes in your treasures. If it's time to deep clean those rugs, be sure to give us a call. Clean Source is the Sedona and Cottonwood's #1 environmentally friendly upholstery and carpet cleaning service and we'd be happy to give you a free estimate. cleansourcegreencleaning[dot]com

4. Vacuum your walls and ceilings and then wash them with a vinegar and water solution. Vinegar has a variety of uses, and is ideal when creating your own homemade eco-friendly cleaners. A mixture of one-part vinegar to three-parts water is mild enough for light cleaning. The vinegar helps to kill any odor causing bacteria, and the smell dissipates quickly. Leaving you feeling squeaky clean, better than bleach could do!

By following these simple steps, you will create a clean home and not pollute the environment even one little bit. Which is of course our main focus here at Clean Source.
