If you have ever tried to remove cat urine odor or dog urine odor from the cushions on your sofa or a favorite upholstered chair, you know it can often be a real problem.
You apply an odor neutralizer and the odor goes away. But in a day or two, it's back. And it's just as strong as before.
The problem is that the odor neutralizer is not getting to the source of the odor You have eliminated the odor from the fabric, but the real source of the odor is in the foam beneath the cushions. No odor neutralizer can remove an odor unless it gets to the source of the odor
The best way to correct this problem is to unzip the fabric and remove the foam. Then literally “soak" the foam with the odor neutralizer. Let it sop it up like a sponge. Once it is soaked, let the solution stay in the foam for a few minutes, and then squeeze it out - just like you would squeeze the water out of a sponge.
Let it dry and then put the fabric back on, and you should have odor free cushions again. While the fabric is off, you may want to give it another treatment of the odor neutralizer as well. Apply the neutralizer to both the front and back sides of the fabric and let dry.
If the problem is particularly difficult, you may need to repeat the process a time or two, but this does work, and will eliminate the odors from your upholstered furniture.
