The Best Marble Colors For Your Bathroom

Visitors: 124

Marble tiles posses an elegant and unique look that no other surface carries, with their artistic whirling patterns and variations in shade. However, the same patterns that make them beautiful may also be a cause for getting a nasty headache, to match from tile to tile.

To make sure the patterns match, the experts from industry organizations such as the Marble Institute of America, recommend having your contractor lay out the tiles over the entire surface before installing so you can approve the result. All your tiles should come from the same original batch.

In addition, marble, like most stone tiles, has high maintenance requirements. These tile variants must be sealed and cleaned regularly; for cleaning, use only a mild detergent solution or a product specially designed for it. And never spill your drink or any corrosive detergent, down on a marble tile surface, as it will leave a ring on it, and wipe up any spills immediately as they can stain or ruin its porous surface.

Marble Tiles Are Viable Materials For Use In Bathrooms

Marble tiles are considered as viable tiling materials for bathrooms, entryways, fireplaces, living and dining areas. These types are generally utilized for both interior and exterior flooring applications. Among the many available marble tile colors are white, red, black, mottled and banded gray, pink and green.

Other bathroom applications for marble include wall covering, backsplashes, tub decks and showers. As there are many other color variants and shade patterns for marble, for a specific color noted, there may be some variations and mixtures, as these design patterns are generally available at the nearest home decor shops or hardware store. Floor tile sizes generally range from 305 x 305 mm to 800 mm free length.

Its finish may also vary from being polished, gauged or beveled. Natural stones like marble and limestone, cost from around $5 to $20 per square foot, and are more commonly seen in higher-priced home renovation projects. Glass tiles on the other hand, can cost as much as $25 to $50 per square foot, depending on the pattern.

Tumbled Marble Is Also A Viable Slip-Resistant Material For Bathrooms

There are some tiles that are crafted with a finished look, and are called tumbled marble. The process of creating tumbled marble involves tumbling them with sand inside a large drum. After some time, the sides and corners of the tiles become rounded and the edges slightly chipped, which result in a well-worn, classic and antique look. The fame of tumbled marble has greatly increased these days, especially for use as bathroom countertops and backsplashes.

Designing a stylishly-crafted and designed bathroom or shower room will surely add an extra value to every home, and provides for a wonderful aesthetic feel to this part of the home. Homeowners these days have not just relied on tiles with shiny finishes, but have also dabbled toward marble tiles with matte or rustic finishes.

In natural stones, look for tumbled and honed marble tiles, which have a old-world look that perfectly blends with the soft touch of earth tones. Unlike the polished stones, they have irregular shapes and a muted appearance. Whatever the designs, they perfectly complement a wonderful bathroom.
