Many companies have developed humidifiers and air purifiers that help reduce the dirt and the pollen that causes allergies. Now there are some features you should look for when selecting the humidifier to help with your allergies.

These devices do need to be turned on for longer periods of time because one hour is just not enough. For some people only in the evenings but for most during the 24 hour or should I say around the clock. So the noise level the humidifier provides is very important.

The reality is that there are many different outside designs available for these devices! Tower high, square, round etc. but the design does not really matter in terms of effectiveness, the design only is important if you have special needs.

Depending on the model, there are some humidifiers that have the built-in filter inside so the importance of the ease the filter is replaces with is also as important.

The living space for every person differs. The same is with the coverage of humidifiers. Some cover 400 sq. ft. while others can cover over 1200 sq. ft. Since humidifiers can hold the water in up to 24 hours, depending on the extensive use of device, you should consider the devices with the larger fill up tank.

One of the most important features of humidifiers is the automatic shut off. This is a button that will shot off the humidifier as soon as the water tank is empty. Since some humidifiers product the steam the machine warms up the filter, due to potential fire hazard, it is better to have the one with the automatic shut off.

Since there are some humidifiers that product the cool and the warm steam, people wondering which is better for the allergy use. This depends on the person and the climate they live in. If you live in the cold environment, than warm mist may be better for you, while if you live in the warm environment the cool mist might be better.

Overall both humidifiers can help a lot with the allergies but make sure you read the instructions properly and change the filter frequently as well.
