When you are in a movie theater you know that while watching the movie, the theater's light is dimmed to almost darkness, in fact the only light you will see is from the projector. The reason being is that any light source that is shone on to the screen is going to restrict your view, plus darkness just intensifies the theater experience.

When you have just purchased your home theater system, the last thing you want is to watch your favorite movie and your lessen your view enjoyment as its being ruined because of light being shining on the surface of your television.

Proper lighting may be one of the most important choices you have to make regarding your home theater.

So before purchasing a home theater system concentrate on the best location which will have the least chance of natural or artificial ruining the viewing space.

Here are the steps to take to prevent too much light from spoiling your viewing enjoyment.

1. Fixing blackout curtains are designed natural sunlight.

2. Fixing aluminum foil over the windows will do the same job, but from the outside it will not look as good.

At various times of the day both natural and artificial light can really affect your ability to see because of the glare on the television; avoid this by using either recessed light and rope lighting.

This kind of light will allow you to see well enough around without disturbing what is on the television screen.

Low light makes the television central point of the room when ever on and overhead lights are dimmed.

Some may argue the television is the most important piece of equipment of the home theater system but bare in mind if the light is not correct for your room type then your viewing enjoyment will really dim your enjoyment.

Test your television with different light systems, and then when the you have the right configuration, then make the investment for a bigger/better television.

When all said and done it comes down to personal preferences, take the time to find out how the lighting will affect your proposed assumption, as the lighting can seriously affect your enjoyment.
