Triple Your Income Using Niche Markets - Part 1 of 2

Niche marketing can be one of the most profitable Internet activities available. The problem is finding the right niche. Many people start out their business by participating in the ‘make money’ niche. This is the largest subjects on the Internet and brings in more money than any other area. However, there is one big problem; Competition.

Although it is the largest and the biggest money maker, it has the most competition. And believe me, the competition is fierce in this niche. And because of that competition, it is difficult for most people to make significant money in this area. You would be much better off by looking for opportunities in other sectors if you are just starting out.

How do you go about finding a good niche? Start out by doing a search and putting your search term in quotes. For example, do a search for “make money" (using the quotes). You will see that there are over 59 million websites using the term make money. Those 59 million sites represent your competition. As you can probably guess, it is going to be difficult to make money when you are competing with 59 million others.

Look for niches with less than 50,000 or even 25,000 competitors. It is much easier to make money in these smaller areas. After you have found a few good candidates, look for related affiliate products. Do some research on those products to determine how well they are selling. Look for products that have been around for a while. This is usually an indication that they are making money. Then check the Google Page Rank and Alexa ranking of the sales page. A high Page Rank and low Alexa Ranking could indicate that you have found a winner.

Don't get discouraged, ideal niches are not easy to find. There is software out there that will make the job much easier, but if you are just starting out, you may want to use these free techniques outlined here. In Part 2, I will cover how to make money in these smaller areas.
