The Internet continues to provide very viable resources in many different ways. One of the most common ways it is being used today is to search for a new job. This can be a good thing or it could turn out bad. In the next two articles we will take a look at what you should watch out for when it comes to online job scams.

One of the most common phrases that a person searches for when they use the Internet is the words work at home. It has been reported in 2007 at as high as 84% of the workers in the United States are not working in a job that they would classify as their dream job and want to work at home for themselves.

The most popular search engine today is Google. When you Google search the words work at home millions of results are going to come up. Unfortunately, this gives you the opportunity to end up on websites of people that are trying to scam you.

1. One warning sign to watch out for is if you are on a web page that contains spelling and grammar errors. No professional company is going to have their reputation on the line with a website that contains spelling and grammar errors.

Most fraud on the Internet is done by people living outside the United States. Because English is not their native language it is easy to spot poor grammar right away. That should be a warning signal that you are better off not spending more time on this website.

2. If you are asked personal information you should never supply your bank account or social security number. If you were to fill out online information and receive a follow-up e-mail asking you for this personal information consider that a warning that you might potentially be scammed.

We will look at more online job scams to be aware of in our next article.
