If you're working like a dog at your home based business but not seeing the results chances are your entrepreneurial life is cluttered up, disorganized and lacks productivity.
When you consider you've got a multiple six and depending on your company, possibly a seven figure yearly income riding on your ability to get organized why would you even consider not doing anything and everything to get your business and personal life in order.
The key to changing everything for the better is BALANCE. When you create balance in your life, you vastly increase your enjoyment level in everything you do and from this, your productivity level skyrockets. Here's some quick and easy to follow tips to help you create balance in your life:
Take time everyday for yourself. Give yourself time to reflect on who you are and your purpose. It doesn't have to take long but time spent without interference - no IPod or radio, kids, spouse or work gives you a chance recharge your batteries and focus on what's important.
Similar but different, take time everyday to do something you enjoy. Walk the dog, play with the kids, go for a drive, hit a different coffee shop and hang out for an hour. What ever floats your boat, but reward yourself and do it often. It's a great time to reflect on your accomplishments and what you plan to achieve in the future. Coming from a place of gratitude is the best way to attract success into your life - so don't skimp on this.
When you work - WORK. I would strongly suggest setting your schedule with your family so they know when Mum or Dad is working and do not interrupt. Working from home is mostly a joy but one of the few downsides is untimely interruptions from family. Something as simple as when the “office door is shut - do not interrupt" can be a great way to get the quiet you need to focus on work.
Many new entrepreneurs suffer from procrastination. Setting tasks aside to finish later is a bad habit to get into. If this is you, I suggest adopting a “one touch" policy. Simply put, if you touch it you deal with it. If a bill comes in, pay it and be done. If your have to order supplies, do it right away. If you have follow-up calls to make; get on with them. What are you waiting for?
With the right attitude, a little organization and some work on your part, there's no reason to suggest you can't find true balance in your life and enjoy all the benefits that come with it. I wish you all the best.
