Online rebate processor jobs from home sounds like the perfect way to earn a few extra dollars from home. The basic concept of these programs is they pay you to do what the title suggests - process rebates. Basically all you need to do is simply process rebates at home and earn $15.00 for each one that you complete. Sounds simple enough right? Well that is not the complete picture.
If you go to the website of one of these new companies they make it seem like all you are doing is filling out forms when people ask for a refund. Once the refund is done they will send you a payment of around $15. This is not quite how it works.
The reality is rebate processing is actually affiliate work. Companies promoting these rebate programs are not hiring you to work for them and then paying you by the piece. What they are offering to you is to teach you how to find products that you can sell online and earn a commission from the sale.
These products that they teach you to find are often found on affiliate sites like Clickbank.com or CommissionJunction.com or Linkshare.com. When you join the program you are given training on how to write ads to sell these products. The rebate part comes in when you write your ad you offer a “rebate" when someone buys the product from your affiliate link. Usually the rebate is for about 10 -20% of the price of the product (about $8 on a $49 product). The $15 dollars they advertise that you get with each rebate processed comes out of your commission. For example when you sell a $49 product on Clickbank you usually receive a $23 commission. Then you calculate the rebate you offered in your ad at about $8, which leave you a $15 profit.
Now the training these companies provide is good if you have no experience selling or making money online. Often included in your program will be a members website where they will post many great free sites that allow you to post your ads for free - so you can make money with this program by not spending anything more than the small one time fee for access to the training and members area. For those that have a mid level of experience online there is no need for you to join these programs, as there is not much new information.
So in summary the rebate processor jobs are not really what they say they are. Rebate Processing jobs are a legitimate method to make money online - it is unfortunate that the advertising they use to promote the program is not 100% honest on how the program works, but I guess that is the nature of advertising, often the truth is stretched to get out attention and motivate us to take action. If you are looking for a job then these programs are not for you. If you are looking for a creative way to sell products online then perhaps you should check out one of these programs and give it a try. Just look around before you join as there are various prices from $197 to $39 and they all offer about the same level of training.
