Does Body Wrap work?

I have been asked this question many times. Therefore, I have decided to answer this question briefly through this article.

Yes, they do work and produce amazing results. However, the answer is not that much simple. There are some misconceptions related to that topic. Most people believe that body wrap is a weight loss technique. Well! It is not.

Before going into further details, let us discuss what are body wraps.

Have you ever used facial masks? Well! Body wraps are just like that and I call them body masks. Body wrap is a body treatment and it goes like that:

A number of lotions and creams are applied on your body. You are wrapped with a body wrap mixture and then a blanket or plastic sheet is wrapped around your body. You are left alone for 40 to 60 minutes. After that, you may receive a massage, steam bath or a warm shower to unwrap you. After warm shower, lotions and oils will be applied again.

There are many kinds of body wraps available like herbal, cellulite and detoxifier body wraps. Each procedure brings different results. You may do body wraps at home.

Some people lose 1 to 2 pounds with body wraps but it is not the body wrap that actually works for weight loss; it is the steam bath procedure that works.

You may receive steam bath for 20 to 30 minutes. Steam bath opens the pores of your body and detoxifies your skin. Steam bath helps you lose water weight.

Body wraps cannot help you lose 10 pounds but they can help you lose 1 to 2 inches. Most people receive that benefit. You get into shape and your skin will be moisturized. Your skin will gain its natural glow. It will feel soft and beautiful.

There are many benefits of using body wraps like:

  • Moisturized skin
  • Getting in shape
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Losing 1 to 2 inches
  • Skin glow

Do not expect losing weight with body wraps. In most cases, weight loss results are temporary, unless you repeat the same procedure repeatedly.

However, your skin needs skin massage and skin treatment. For this purpose, body wraps are great. This is the best thing about body wraps. The calm fragrance of the room, warm shower, cool massage, and the beautiful music, all these beautiful feelings are associated with body wraps.

In my opinion, body wraps are great but do not expect much from them. They work but they are not a weight loss technique.
