I

t is imperative that you keep fitness integrated into your everyday life. Proper exercise can be a great benefit to your health. It is entirely up to you how much time you want to dedicate each day to keeping fit. This article is a great guideline, filled with tips on fitness.

Don't give up on your fitness routine until you've been at it for at least a month. Your body generally requires about thirty days to become accustomed to new changes. Keep focused and motivated for that first month, and you'll find your routine will get increasingly easier to maintain after that.

Working at a desk doesn't mean you can't exercise! Use a 20 oz water bottle as a weight to work on your triceps and biceps while you check your email or answer the phone. You can build your calves and strengthen your knees by doing seated leg lifts. If you feel like your job leaves you no time and energy to get fit, these simple desk exercises can turn your workplace into a mini-gym!

A great fitness tip for people trying to develop their abs is to include squats and dead lifts into their routine. Studies have shown that these two exercises force you to use your core a great deal in order to maintain proper posture. Just remember to do each exercise correctly to avoid injury.

Great looking abs will get you attention wherever you go. To get great abs, perform this simple exercise for five

minutes, every morning. Lie flat on your back on the floor or on a yoga mat. Slowly bicycle your legs up and down in the air, as if you were pedaling a bike up a hill. As you push your legs away, make sure to fully extend your legs so that your knees are straight.

Work out your abs without doing crunches. That's right, all you have to do is to take a deep breath and on the exhale, simply squeeze your belly to your spine and hold it for about 10 seconds. You'll be working your transversus abdominis muscle, which lays behind more prominent abdominal muscles but can flatten your stomach noticeably.

Avoid working your abdominal muscles every day of the week. Instead, target them no more than two or three days per week. Like any other muscle group in your body, the ab muscles need time to recover between intense workouts. Doing abdominal exercises every day will not speed up the process of developing toned abs.

A good tip for weight lifters is to ditch their weight belt. While it is true that a weight belt offers support to your back, it is important to realize that continuous use of a weight belt can weaken both your lower back and your abs. If you must use a weight belt make sure to workout your back accordingly.

Achieving personal fitness is the key to great health and it makes you feel wonderful. If you haven't exercised regularly in the past, you may feel very overwhelmed, but it is possible with the right help. Use the tips in this article to work on your fitness level and to achieve your goal of maximum fitness.
