Is your snoring keeping your significant other awake? In that case take a look at this article. Learn how you can sleep better and resolve snoring problems.

One easy method to help reduce snoring is to raise your head using pillows. A thick, firm pillow provides extra support for your neck and head. Using multiple pillows could also work. This puts your head in a more upright position, and that increases airflow which may result in a reduced amount of snoring.

Have your thyroid levels examined. An under-active thyroid, especially in ladies, may cause frequent snoring. An under active thyroid can cause a whole host of problems, including sleep interruption. Your doctor can order the thyroid test to see if you've got a medical condition that is causing you to snore.

Stay away from consuming dairy products before you go to sleep to eliminate snoring. Consuming dairy products can result in the production of mucus, which can lead you to snore. Thus, these mucus-producing dairy products will block your airways, leading to excessive snoring.

If you are snoring and you are pregnant, you have to see a physician right away. It is normal for a lot of pregnant women to begin snoring due to the additional weight they are carrying, however, you should ensure that the baby is not missing out on oxygen because of this. Consult your physician to make sure that this will not be a serious problem for your baby.

One possible snoring cure that many people believe in is the tennis ball method. This method consists of placing a ball on the back through sewing a type of pocket on the shirt for it, or just placing it inside a sock, then pinning it to the back. What happens is that you feel the ball when you are on your back, and therefore you stop sleeping on your back, cutting down on your snoring. Once you are accustomed to staying off your back at night, take the tennis ball off.

If your loved ones snores, avoid physically attacking them in their sleep! You can just make a bitter situation out of something that someone can't control, so try your best to phase out the noise and don't let your emotions get the best of you. Get some ear plugs and try to be understanding. After all, they are asleep and don't know they are doing it!

If you want your snoring to stop, use a firmer pillow. Soft pillows relax your throat muscles, which causes your airway to become more narrow. Narrow air passages contribute to increased snoring because air flow is reduced. If you have a firmer pillow, it will help hold the airways open.

Whether you snore or you are being kept up by someone who does, a great tip to reduce snoring is to use multiple pillows. By using two pillows, your head is raised and your airways are cleared, allowing you to breathe easier. That will fix your snoring problem right away.

Even though snoring happens while you sleep, there are steps you can take to control it. Take the tips you have read here, apply them to your life and you should have the ability to reduce or eliminate the amount of snoring you do!
