My Aromatherapy Skin Care

Visitors: 204

The concept of aromatherapy skin care is not new. The reason it may seem so is because of the constant influx of new synthetic products that claim to solve all of our skin care problems. However, these same problems have been around for centuries and through methods such as aromatherapy skin care, they have been treated for just as long.

Eventually though, people began to realize the negative effects that artificial products can have on both skin and body. The knowledge regarding it and the market for aromatherapy skin care products started to grow once again and now many people are willing to pay the small extra price for a chance to use a natural product.

What is Aromatherapy Skin Care?

On a very basic level, aromatherapy skin care is the use of essential oils in conjunction with base oils within lotions and other skin care products to produce any number of positive effects on human skin. Each different kind of essential oil is associated with a different result as well. For instance, lavender is used to relax while citrus is an energizing oil. Each person reacts slightly differently to the effects of these oils, but most can take advantage of them in some way. For centuries, cultures have been using aromatherapy skin care to treat any number of other ailments. Along with skin diseases, aromatherapy has been used to help cancer patients relax and rest during their treatment and to help manage pain in the ill and infirmed.

Many common products in your home likely have some form of essential oil in them, whether it is the shower gels, laundry products or candles in your bathroom. They are used in nearly everything to help people relax, feel better and clear up their endangered skin.

Ingredients in Aromatherapy Skin Care Products

There are any numbers of different ingredients in these skin care products. For some people, these ingredients might cause allergic reactions, so a full understanding of how they can affect your body is very important before you use any. Many oils are gathered from sources such as plants, flowers, trees, roots, and herbs, all common allergen sources. Be wary before you do anything with a substance that you are unfamiliar with, especially if you have allergies to various substances. Confer with your doctor if you have any questions about how your body might respond to a particular aromatherapy product. Here are some of the most common essential oils used in aromatherapy skin care:

1. Chamomile

2. Cedar Wood

3. Eucalyptus

4. Basil

5. Thyme

6. Lavender

7. Teas

8. Sunflower Seed

9. Lemon seed

Combined with the various substances which you commonly use to keep your skin healthy, these essential oils and substances help to make aromatherapy skin care a vital addition to the field of skin care products, one that does not contain chemicals, artificially created substances or oily products that do more harm than good.
