Fibromyalgia treatments can help to reduce symptoms associated with this condition, but unfortunately there is not a cure. Most doctors take focus their treatment efforts on relieving the pain and making the patient more comfortable.

There are many things that you can do at home, these fibromyalgia treatments may help to improve your lifestyle- especially if you follow them consistently. The most important thing is to create good habits. Here are a few options that you might consider:

1. Sleep-aid treatments - Many fibromyalgia patients have a difficulty sleeping. They are not able to rest at night, and no matter how long they sleep they still feel very unrested in the morning. You may consider taking sleep-aid medications, or pro actively working to help you rest. Avoid eating heavy foods before bedtime, and take a warm bath to help relax your body. Also, make sure that you have a quiet, dark area to rest where you will not be disturbed.

2. Painkillers and anti-inflammatory medication - because there is a great deal of pain associated with fibromyalgia, many patients choose to take painkillers or other medication to help with the swelling. Over-the-counter medications can be taken to relieve pain, such as: Tylenol, Advil, Ibuprofen, etc.

3. Fibromyalgia diet - Focus your diet on healthy, natural foods such as produce and unprocessed meals. Avoid eating greasy meals, and also avoid caffeine.

4. Heat packs - Applying hot pads to painful areas may help you find temporary relief. The heat will help to soothe and relax the muscles.

5. Fibromyalgia alternative treatment - Many patients have reported positive results from using alternative treatments such as reflexology, acupuncture, massage, and chiropractor care.

Because all patients have different needs, it is suggested that you consult with your doctor before implementing any changes to your lifestyle.
