Knee pain is becoming a pretty common ailment. A lot of people suffer from the knee pain especially in the older age. However, not each and every person knows the causes of knee pain. You need to understand that the cause of knee pain can be different from one patient to another. That is why you have to always first look into the cause of knee pain and thereafter you have to take a call about solving the problem of knee pain.

1. Injury:

One of the main causes of knee pain is an injury. Injuries can be a plenty of different types as well. Some of the types of injuries which can cause knee pain are:

• ACL injury

• PCL injury

• MCL injury

• LCL injury

In each of these types of injury, the impact is different. That is why you have to look at the extent of the injury. Once you look at the extent of the injury, it would become easier for you to understand the type of treatment required as well. Also, the symptoms of each and every injury are different as well.

2. Rupture of the cartilage:

There is a cartilage which sits between the femur and tibia. The function of this cartilage is to absorb any kind of shocks to the knee. During the impact, if the cartilage is ruptured, you would realize that not only it causes continuous pain but also whenever you are moving the knee or whenever you are walking, it would further increase the pain as well. That is why you would be under consistent pain whenever you are trying to move.

3. Adolescent anterior knee pain:

This particular knee pain is often seen in youngsters as well as teenagers. It is caused whenever there is damage to the structure of the knee. In order to understand the knee pain, you have to look at the anatomy of the knee. In

case, there is overexertion or extra pressure on the knee, this kind of pain is often caused. If you are injured in any kind of sports activity or if you’re using improper exercise equipment, this pain can be caused.

In most of the cases, first and foremost thing which you have to do is to stop that activity. Only when you are able to stop that activity, you would be able to provide the required amount of comfort to your knee. Once you are able to do that, it becomes easier for you to start the treatment without any further damage to the knee.

So, whenever you are suffering from knee pain or knee instability , before opting for knee surgery , you have to look at the cause of the knee pain. Once you are able to determine the cause, it would be immensely easier for you to determine the extent of treatment as well as the severity of the treatment.
