Physically the throat lets energy move through it- think of the passage of air, food and drink. It acts like a pressure valve, releasing build up in other chakras too. Expressing yourself or suppressing the expression of your thoughts and feelings will have knock on effects elsewhere in your chakra system and your physical body too.

If the powerful art of chakra healing sounds intriguing to you, visit an experienced chakra healer. A good healer will ask you plenty of questions about your health in order to pinpoint which of your chakras are the most blocked or unbalanced. From there he or she may employ any number of tools to help lead your energy centres into harmonious vibration and focus on your back pain.

Chakra is a Sanskrit word which means ‘wheel of light’. The chakras appear as wheel-like vortices of pure energy and are sometimes referred to as ‘lotuses’. They spin at great speed and in a deeply spiritual person they become spheres of radiant energy. C. G. Jung refers to the chakras as the ‘gateways of consciousness’. Each chakra has its own purpose, association and connection. It is common for the lower chakras to be connected to back pain.

HEART CHAKRA (Green) - is located in the centre of your chest. It is associated, not surprisingly, with love. Because it is at the centre of the seven major chakras, it connects the lower chakras with the upper chakras. A completely open and balanced heart chakra can lead to unconditional love - of yourself and others - that can be inspiring to the world around you. The compassion, love and warmth radiated can bring joy and open others up. This can be a divine or spiritual form of love in its highest form. Imbalance in this chakra can be manifest in someone who gives away love, but has trouble receiving it, or who gives, but expects something in return. This can result in anger, lack of love, coldness, depression or physical, heart troubles.

Attributes: There is often a great amount of physical energy and power within this chakra or emanating from it. This chakra is also the psychic store - house of mystical energy and is the energy centre used by materialisation mediums for producing ectoplasm and other psychic manifestations. The will, determination, assertion, personal power, hearty laughter. With back pain look towards the lower chakras.
