When one decides to buy shoe lifts there are all many different manufacturers out there to choose from. Though, there are a many aspects that they really don’t take into considering that one might want to consider. Simple because the insoles product being manufactured is not necessarily included on the list of things we typically understand to be ecofriendly or vegan, it does not however mean that it cannot do so. There are now manufacturers that have decided that they are going to make an effort to design and manufacture completely vegan friendly shoe lifts that are also better for the environment than orthotics have ever been before.
Sure most people don’t really think of vegan friendly shoe lifts when they realize that they need to go about getting orthotic insole. However, some manufacturers have made the decision to make their products better as a result. Typically orthotics are designed and manufactured with a series of methods that are not particularly good for the environment, and furthermore, there are not all that many custom insoles manufacturers who have taken the time to make sure that their custom orthotics are in fact an animal free product.
Just to cover all of their bases, the manufacturers have decided to limit the amount of materials that go into making their vegan friendly shoe lifts. They are designed with three materials in all. The main material, is EVA foam, followed by a hardened plastic and finally an industrial adhesive, all of which have been checked to make sure they use only synthetic and natural materials. For instance, the EVA foam is actual a combination of ethylene and vinyl acetate, both organic compounds (yes that same vinyl that’s in your jacket). Additionally, the adhesive that is used is based off of acetone, and features no animal products or byproducts whatsoever.
As for the ecofriendly aspect, well, that comes to the actual design process. When the manufacturer goes about developing vegan friendly shoe lifts they will ask for images of the customer’s feet in order to get the measurements necessary. This is as opposed to requiring one to drive to some location or clinic to provide the manufacturer those measurements, or otherwise shipping a non-biodegradable foam or plaster impression mold kit that one would use and then ship back to the manufacturer. By removing so much shipping, there is no reliance on the pollution that is put out by trucks and planes.
