The only way to truly lose body fat is to diet. If you only understand one thing, understand this. You will lose body fat by dieting and not exercising. You will not lose your body fat by exercising and NOT dieting. This is why it is very important to find the right diet.

Don't let the word diet scare you. In fact, dieting has never been easier. The right diet will be so easy to follow that you will not even know you are on one. The right diet will show you how you can eat all the foods you love and still be able to burn body fat. You will learn that it is more important to know WHEN to eat rather than what to eat.

Understand that doing sit ups are not a bad thing to incorporate with your diet. You just need to make sure you diet while you exercise. Exercise will tone your muscles. Even though that is a good thing to do, what is the point of having nicely toned muscles only to have them covered up by your body fat. This is why if you are going to exercise on a regular basis, you need to diet also. Just understand it is not mandatory in order for you to lose body fat.
