Working out with dumbbells requires very little space and equipment, and it is a great way to get in shape with.

With a proper set of dumbbells, you can stay in shape for the rest of your life just by using them only.

Here a 4 tips to get the best out of the dumbbell workouts -

1. Quality Over Quantity

Executing your exercises correctly should be your first priority. And when it comes to exercise of any kind, quality always trumps quantity! Hence, mastering the dumbbell movements in a controlled and slow movement will have a greater impact on your body's transformation.

But with a poor technique, you will suffer from:

    - A lack of progress
    - More unwanted injuries
    - A Waste of your time and energy

One of the best ways to get 100% control of the movement is to always tighten your abdominal and lower back muscles to stabilize your body before and during every single exercise. This will give your entire core a solid workout.

Remember, it is not a matter of how much you do, but how well you do it.

2. Do Challenging Exercises

Once you've got point one in order, use a challenging weight. The fact is, using challenging exercises are more effective - and will stimulate your body to burn more and build muscle. So, if you are a fit adult male or female, you should be able to do all of your exercises with weights that are more challenging. Any exercises that are not challenging will have no result, and a waste of your time and energy.

3. Modify Your Routine

Varying your exercises monthly is a great way to avoid plateaus. Even with the best dumbbell workout, your body will adapt to it eventually. Once your body is set to a routine, it just does what it has to do to pass through the motion. Therefore, by ‘mixing it up’ regularly, you will have continual results.

Variation in your routine may include:

    - Change the order that you do your exercises in
    - shorten the rest time in between exercises
    - Slow the speed of your dumbbell movements

4. Unbalanced Exercises

Becoming unbalanced is a great way to get maximum results for both fat loss and strength. These exercises will involve pushing your body outside of its comfort zone of solid surfaces. And as it is more challenging, it will add more core strength to your body, and burning more body fat. Examples of unstable dumbbell exercises include standing on one foot or using a stability ball.

By following the 4 tips above, you will challenge your body to continually adapt but force it to burn more calories and build muscles.
