The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation is the leading advocate for children who have been diagnosed with type one diabetes. Through research, the mission of the foundation is to find a cure. The JDF is responsible for funding many centers, organizations, and events to raise money and awareness about the disease and help as many people as children and parents of children who have been diagnosed.

The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation awarded more than $130 million in research in 2007. The foundation also funded over 650 centers, grants, and fellowships. The foundation is determined to find a cure for the disease and help as many people as possible. The primary funds for the foundation come from parents of diabetic children and tax deductible donations.

Since 1970, the JDF has awarded over $1 billion to researching diabetes to find a cause for the disease. The Foundation is responsible for the Countdown for Kids magazine, which is a magazine targeting diabetic kids. This magazine allows for kids to read about other kids and how they cope, things they can do, tons of fun facts, and more! This magazine is a great way for children to cope with their disease.

The JDF has a website also, which is This website is a great place for parents and kids to get information about the disease, things they can do, diets, traveling, tips and tricks, events, and more. This website is a wonderful place, providing a central place for parents to gather all of the information they need about their child's illness. Events, such as the Walk to Cure Diabetes are listed on the site for people to learn more and be able to attend. Information about clinical trials and the research being conducted to find a cure can be found on the site. A newsletter is posted also, along with a support team for parents to contact if they need someone to talk to.

The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation has been helping children who have been diagnosed with type one diabetes since 1970. The foundation is committed to finding a cure through research and they believe they will be successful.
