Upon attaining a certification as a dental assistant one would then need to secure an internship or a practice, which would be the best thing to do to enhance one’s prospects and make one’s dental assistant resume effective. For those who have already been in the practice as a dental assistant for some time now, and would like a change or a new break as such in a new place, a polishing of the resume is a must. For your job search, one should enhance the resume and make it perfect or else it could break your chances of searching the best positions and securing them around.
Irrespective of the dental assistant stage you are in at the moment, your career as an assistant is what you need to focus on. Your resume should speak volumes of your skills and strengths while you also speak of your educational backup and relevant certifications, like the DANB.

Your employers would surely look into dental assistant certifications, but would also check on your experience, before they employ you with their team. For those who are new to the field of dentistry, one can add leadership skills and experience to show ethics, morals and motivation as their forte. Your choice of words should be chosen well and should indicate pro-activeness, along with that DON’T LIE or make up stories.
Dental assistant certifications can be obtained from the DANB and this would add seven stars to your resume as well.

You could be a starter as a dental assistant or even a veteran in the field, but with a certification from DANB, you would have a super dental assistant resume. All dentists wouldn’t need a certification as such, even experienced dentists, some of them don’t have any DANB certifications to work full time or as a trainee, but when you spend time to study and pass your exams for a certification, the benefits that come along would be aplenty to choose from.
With a dental assistant certification one would get greener pastures accessibility to choose from, the experience and skills would be same for all candidates, but this certification can take you places with higher pay scales. For those who are already in employment as a dental assistant this would be a brownie to your dental assistant resume.
For most reputed dental assistant schools, help on securing a dental assistant certification is the norm they would help you with. Check which state you belong to or study in, for it matters, since it would differ from one state to another. If you are on an OJT and couldn’t attend the dental training course, you would be asked for a two year internship before sitting for the dental assistant examination. The exam would cost your pocket $125, but its worth it if you are looking at a brighter, attractive dental assistant resume.

Good luck budding dental assistants, may you have the best scores and certifications to take you on the journey to dentistry success!!
