Getting the Most Out of Your Bicep Workouts

Visitors: 263

Practice makes perfect regardless of what it is that you're practicing. If you want perfect biceps, you're going to have to practice to get them. Simply lifting a little weight every once in a while won't get the job done. To get massive arms, you are going to need to stick to bicep workouts that focus strictly on that muscle group.

The first thing you should do to get the most out of your bicep routine is to make a commitment to it. Unless you're committed to working with your biceps and building them up you're going to end up doing a few sets once in a while and giving up. Bicep workouts need to happen regularly (once a week at least) in order to get the quickest results.

The best exercise for biceps are called curls. A curl is when you hold a weight in one hand, turn your arm forward and bend your elbow to bring the weight to your shoulder. These can be done with dumbbells or a barbell.

Curls stress the bicep and cause it to grow. You'll want to be careful not to exercise so much that you hurt yourself. The myth of no pain no gain is a sure way to damage your body. Rather, you want the muscle tissue to break down a little, and then grow back just slightly more. This is muscle growth.

Set aside a regular time each week. Determine how many sets you're going to need to perform. Then do it. No action means no achievement. No results. That action needs to be consistently taken as well. A long term exercise regimen is what causes the bicep to reach it's maximum potential.

The key to getting the most out of your bicep workouts is intensity and consistency. By fully stressing the biceps at least once a week, you will ensure that your arms will get massive in no time at all.
