As we grow older, so does our skin. As we age, the skin becomes less elastic and thin and this makes it vulnerable to damage. It is a natural process but exposure to the sun, smoking and genetics can increase the risk. Although wrinkles cannot be removed completely, home remedies can help reduce the appearance of them. Here are four simple and inexpensive home remedies that help fight wrinkles.
1. Olive Oil
Application of olive oil to the skin is a powerful tool to fight wrinkles. Additionally, those who consume olive oil as part of their diet have fewer wrinkles. Olive oil contains vitamin E, which maintains moisture and elasticity of the skin. Olive oil is a commonly used moisturizer for dry skin. Apply it daily to your face and neck, preferably at night before bed and remove in the morning with lukewarm water.
2. Egg Whites
Egg whites are full of protein, vitamin A, vitamin B and other nutrients that help freshen the skin. Egg whites can be applied on its own or mixed with vitamin E oil or honey. This will smooth out any fine lines. In addition, if you want to restore the pH balance of the skin, apply it with the juice of any citrus fruit. The result of using egg whites is soft, smooth skin.
Honey is considered to be a natural moisturizer and helps heal skin. It is an exothermic liquid, giving off heat once applied to the skin. This soothes the skin and also cleanses the pores of the skin found deep beneath. Honey can be applied by itself or mixed with avocado, almond oil or vitamin E capsules to give you soft, youthful skin. Leave the honey on the skin for about fifteen minutes as any longer it might be intolerable due to the heat and wash off with cold water.
4. Castor Oil
Castor oil is a natural moisturizer and absorbs into the skin quite efficiently. This oil is odorless and can be applied and kept on during the day. Therefore, it can be used to treat dry skin and winter chapping. Castor oil can be mixed with lemon juice and applied to the face overnight as it increases the concentration of vitamin C, repairing any skin damage. This simple remedy when applied a few times a week can treat wrinkles and delay the ageing process of your skin.
